Fun Facts
Fun Facts
Indian Hemp / Dogbane is a tall, upright native perennial that grows 3 - 5 feet in moist meadows, along stream banks, and in open areas. In summer, it produces clusters of small pinkish-white flowers that attract pollinators, while its fibrous stems were historically used to make rope and cordage.
Clump-forming and slow-spreading, it is manageable in larger naturalized plantings or wildlife gardens. Preferring full sun to part shade and medium to wet soils, it adds both ecological and historical value to native landscapes, and can help stabilize slopes or moist areas where other plants may struggle.
