Fun Facts

Light conditions-dappled/morning sun, pt shade-shade, Soil conditions-average to moist. This sedge prefers to grow in woods, floodplain forests and pond/wetland edges. This dense, fine textured, clump forming(plant flops when mature), well behaved species makes a nice addition to the home garden.

A cool season species that actively grows in the spring and fall when the soil temperature is cool. Seeds can be very slow to start, 6-8 weeks (patience required) and young seedlings should not be disturbed as young new roots can be easily damaged.

Consider plant division of mature plants. Deer resistant. Excellent for home landscaping.
