Virginia Waterleaf is valued for its attractive foliage and pale lavender flowers in spring. It grows best in moist, rich woodland soil and quickly fills shaded areas. It is excellent for native bumble bees, mason bees, mining bees, butterflies, and hoverflies. Its dense foliage provides shelter for beneficial insects. It is ideal for naturalized woodland settings. It may go dormant during dry summers.
