Faits intéressants

Wild Hyacinthe prefers open grassy areas such as moist meadows and woodland edges. It sprouts from bulbs in the early spring and then retreats underground after blooming. it is an important early season nectar and pollen source for native bees. Populations of this plant are declining in Ontario, partly as a result of habitat destruction from land clearing and Cormorant duck nesting as the droppings of these ducks are toxic to wild hyacinthe.
