Shrubby St. John's-wort is covered in bright yellow flowers from midsummer into fall. It tolerates drought, poor soils, and urban conditions, making it one of the easiest native shrubs to grow. It is excellent for native bees, bumble bees, sweat bees, butterflies, hoverflies, and beneficial insects. Birds may use the shrub for nesting cover. It is drought tolerant.
