Faits intéressants

Golden groundsel is a woodland and wetland perennial native to moist forests, floodplains, stream banks, and swamps.
Bright golden-yellow flowers appear in spring above attractive evergreen basal leaves, providing one of the earliest displays of colour in the native garden.

Golden groundsel is highly effective for suppressing weeds, stabilizing soil, and filling difficult shady areas. It is one of the most valuable early spring wildflowers for pollinators. Its flowers attract native bees, bumble bees, mining bees, hoverflies, butterflies, and beneficial wasps when few other native plants are in bloom. It also supports several native moth caterpillars. The dense evergreen foliage provides shelter for frogs, toads, salamanders, ground beetles, and other beneficial wildlife.
