Trailing Wild Bean is found in open areas, shorelines, and dry meadows. It produces attractive pink to lavender pea-like flowers during summer followed by elongated seed pods. The stems trail or climb through surrounding vegetation, making it useful where a loose, naturalized appearance is desired. It prefers well-drained soils. It is best given room to trail or climb. It can be grown on a small trellis or allowed to weave through other plants. Avoid placing it directly beside delicate, low-growing plants.
