Old Field Aster has slender, branching stems and masses of small white to pale lavender flowers with yellow centres. It blooms from late summer into fall, often continuing after many other native perennials have finished. It is an excellent choice for a naturalized garden, meadow, pollinator border, or difficult sunny area. It can become quite bushy and branching. It tolerates drought once established. It does not need rich soil or fertilizer.
