Great blue lobelia produces tall spikes of rich blue flowers in late summer when many other native plants have finished blooming. It is highly attractive to bumble bees, large native bees, hummingbirds, butterflies, and hummingbird moths. It is a short-lived perennial that self-seeds gently. You may want to let it self-seed to continue having plants frm year to year.
