Arrow-leaved Aster has branching stems and distinctive arrow-shaped leaves. Masses of small white flowers with yellow centres appear in late summer and fall. It grows naturally in open woodlands, woodland edges, and meadows. It is adaptable to many garden conditions. It tolerates average to somewhat dry soil once established. You can cut back in early summer if a shorter, bushier plant is desired. It is a good choice for naturalized borders and woodland edges.
